01 · Issues

Issues that move at the speed of thought

Create in seconds, triage with single keys, and never hit refresh — every change syncs to every teammate in real time.

Fast by default

Optimistic updates land before your hand leaves the keyboard. No spinners between you and the work.

Sub-issues & relations

Break work down, mark blockers and duplicates, and keep every dependency visible.

Comments & @mentions

Discussion lives on the issue — mention a teammate and they're in the loop instantly.

A full audit trail

Every status change, assignment, and edit lands in the activity feed automatically.

Polish board drag physics on long columns

Cards should settle with a 120ms ease-out when dropped between columns. Today the spring overshoots when the target column is scrolled, which makes fractional reordering feel imprecise.

@Ada repro’d this on a 60-card column — fix in review, demo in the cycle sync.

02 · Board & Cycles

Momentum you can measure

Drag issues across a fluid board, plan work into auto-numbered cycles, and watch scope and progress update live as the team ships.

A board that keeps up

Fractional ordering means drops land exactly where you put them — even mid-drag from a teammate.

Cycles on rails

Two-week heartbeats, numbered automatically. Unfinished work rolls forward on its own.

Progress, computed

Scope, started, and completed counts are derived from the issues — never hand-updated.

Projects across teams

Group work toward an outcome and track health from one page, org-wide.

What shipped in Cycle 14, and what’s at risk before Friday?

cycle_summarysearch_issuescreate_issue

Shipped (8) — keyboard triage, auth redirect fix, board virtualization, and 5 more.

At risk (2) — ENG-147 Tangent index migration has no reviewer; ENG-146 is blocked on a data backfill.

03 · AI Agent

An AI agent on the roster

Tangent's agent works inside your workspace with org-scoped tools — it files issues, summarizes cycles, drafts standups, and catches duplicates before they ship.

Chat with context

It knows your teams, cycles, and backlog — answers come from your data, not the void.

Tools, not just talk

Creates, updates, and searches issues with the same permission checks as any member.

Reports on demand

Standups and cycle summaries written from real activity, ready to paste anywhere.

Duplicate radar

Semantic search over every issue flags lookalikes the moment something is filed.

04 · Keyboard-first

Your hands never leave the keyboard

Everything in Tangent is a command. One palette, single-key shortcuts, and zero context switches between thinking and doing.

05 · Everything else

All the table stakes, none of the bloat

The features you expect from a serious tracker — built in, fast, and out of your way.

Full-text search

Find any issue by title or description in milliseconds, scoped to your workspace.

Saved views

Slice the backlog by status, assignee, label, or cycle — then save the view for the team.

Attachments

Drop logs, screenshots, and specs straight onto the issue. Stored alongside the work.

Mentions & threads

Pull the right person into the conversation with @mentions that notify instantly.

Live presence

See who's viewing an issue right now, so you never collide on an edit or a triage call.

Multi-team workspaces

Each team gets its own key, board, and cycles — ENG-142 means the same thing to everyone.

Loved by builders

Teams switch for the speed. They stay for the calm.

We moved four thousand issues over a weekend and nobody asked how to use it on Monday. It’s that obvious.

The cycle reports the agent writes are better than the ones I used to write. I checked. Twice.

Tangent is the first tracker our engineers don’t complain about. ⌘K does everything, and the board never lags.
